DORTMUNDER VORTRÄGE ZUR STADTBAUKUNST NO. 3
The lectures published in this volume were presented in the Rudolf Chaudoire Pavilion at Dortmund University on 11 December 2009 and address the art of urban planning. This art can be understood in two ways: On the one hand, the artistic character of urban planning – the aesthetic, creative side of the city – is emphasised; on the other, how urban planning can be used to bring diverse aspects such as social, economic, political, ecological, technical and cultural demands into the shaping of the city.
