The TRAFFIC ARCHITECTURE magazine presents various transportation buildings by MÄCKLER ARCHITEKTEN, whose overall social significance is reflected in their special urban planning and architectural treatment with regard to location, space, material and construction.

The introduction “A. & B.” was written by Wilhelm E. Opatz: Trained bricklayer, studied interior designer, practicing graphic designer, mediating architecture lover, among other things with the architectural guides of the “Frankfurt” series – visited Antwerp-Centraal in October 2018 and the construction site of Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport in October 2022; he then read “Austerlitz” by W. G. Sebald.

An incredible performance that follows a strict script, and yet coincidences prompt still-lives with an irresistible charm – the magazine TRANSFORMATION ARCHITEKTUR by MÄCKLERARCHITEKTEN shows the construction site of Frankfurt’s Terminal 3 as a transitory place with expressive visual language.

The texts are written by design theorist, critic, consultant and university lecturer Professor Markus Frenzl, the pictures are taken by photographer Wonge Bergmann.
