11th North Rhine-Westphalia Architecture Quartet: Places of Encounter
The 11th “North Rhine-Westphalia Architecture Quartet” discussed the topic “Places of Encounter” in Cologne’s Balloni Halls on 29 November. An audience of 350 listened to an intensive, often controversial, debate between Prof. Christl Drey (architect/urban planner, Chair of “Haus der Architektur”, Cologne), Prof. Christoph Mäckler (architect, Frankfurt am Main), Max Moor (actor, presenter of TV arts show “titel, thesen, temperamente”) and Dr. Christine Vogt (Director of Ludwig Gallery, Oberhausen Palace). The four participants looked at the following “places of encounter” in more detail: the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr concert hall in Bochum by Bez + Kock Architekten (Stuttgart), the new Düsseldorf University campus by Nickl & Partner Architekten (Munich) and the DITIB central mosque in Cologne by Paul Böhm Architekten (Cologne).
